mono no aware is a Japanese expression first used in the 11th century during the Heian period. 
It expresses the awareness of impermanence; a blueness towards the end; a resignation facing 
the brevity of life; the eternal transience of things. 

Human beings are exposed to this feeling at least a few times during their lives, and some more
than others. These moments usually echo equally uneasiness, beauty and resignation.

Mono no aware represents the gentle sadness one feels after comprehending this mutant state of life.



The conscience of transience remains at a beautiful view because

We are the children of a sick, dirty world, yes 

But the remains of beauty we also possess

Touched by the dirt, but not its origin

Content description
The Pavilion of the transitory sadness reunites three written oeuvres and four
 movies that transmit the mono no aware feeling to the viewer. Throughout
 the parcours, the user comprehends this nostalgic and melancholic 
feeling, seeing it through celebrated oeuvres.

The empress and the crown prince were seated to the left and right of the throne. This arrangement of course
displeased Kokiden, but she put in an appearance all the same, unable to let such an occasion pass. It was a beautiful day.  The sky was clear, birds were singing.

The transitory character of the pavilion is not limited to the mono no aware feeling. The exposition is itinerant, and should travel to several locations. Due to this fact, the assembly was thought to be simple and direct
